Creating a Data Source with DataTime, creating joins using the visual tool of arbitrary DataTime, Report from multiple tables, with Datagrid
We have already defined the Date Time Reporting System as one of the best reporting tools. The Data Source
is a great board, the result of arbitrary joins between multiple tables, from which to collect data, using the rules extraction of the SQL language. From Data Source, thanks to slice & operations says, you can build Data Grid, which aggregates information from different databases and work on it.
Let's see what are the steps to create a Data Source using Date Time:
• Click on "Select Project " and then "New Connection "
• You will get a list of programs and their database to choose from (let's say you select Nortwind Access);
• Click on "New Data Source " Data Source screen appears Designer, on the left will be the list of selected tables in the database;
• Select the tables on which we operate and drag with the right mouse button on an area of \u200b\u200bwork;
• Choose the fields from the tables of interest;
• A Now, thanks to Relationspip On Map DBMS Objects On desiner Panel (viewable by clicking the right mouse button) you can learn about the relationships between the various attributes of the selected tables;
• You can create a relationship between the tables by dragging fields with the mouse (in the example in the classroom, we created a 1-n relation between ORDERS, primary key, and ORDERS_DETAILS, secondary key.
• Finally, we should save everything by clicking on Save (you can test the query created with Try query).
order to use the Data Source is designed to click on "New Report" will display only the reports resulting from the join performed on the tables.
Returning to the main screen you can select the Date Time Report window Grid Design, from which to choose the dimensions, measures and the report layout (vertical, horizontal, cross-over): The right mouse button allows us to transform the extent size, double-click to perform choice.
order to cure the look and feel of our report (insert images or dashboard), or complete it, adding text, you can access by clicking the Report Composer Generate .
Date Time also lets you work with SQL (just click on Check Out) or switch to Oracle syntax (choosing Connection Proprietes )
